Best practice for duplicating our content on your website
If you are planning to (or already have) duplicate information, we appreciate your willingness to share this information on your own website. Below are some best practice suggestions on how to duplicate information, to help search engines find the source of the information.
- Always provide a link on your page pointing the reader to the original content on the Genos website. As a tip, don’t simply direct your users to our Home page because they may not know where to go to find the relevant information on our website. Make sure you provide the direct link to the exact page from where you copied the content.
- Re-write the content so it is unique and appears in search engine results. Google, for instance, have stated that in the majority of cases, duplicate content simply gets filtered out of search results.
- Use succinct anchor text that is relevant to the source page and non-generic when you are providing a link to the original content on the Genos website. Anchor text is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. For example, don’t just use ‘click here’, ‘Genos’ or ‘EI’. In most cases, it’s best to identify or describe the link’s destination.
